Happy Festive Season!
I thought it was worth putting a blog entry together to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year! It is hard to believe that 2013 is soon to be coming to an end. It’s been an eventful year for me both personally and professionally.
As they say things come in threes and today I’d like to share with you three of the events that have taken pride of place for me over the past year.
It all started in February with the birth of my beautiful daughter, Chloe. She made quite an entrance into the world with my wife Chantelle nearly giving birth to her in our car! Thankfully an ambulance arrived to relieve some of the pressure off of me!! We almost didn’t make it, our little girl was born within four minutes after arriving at the hospital. Quite an experience to say the least! It’s been a big adjustment for us going from one child to two, but as she now approaches her first birthday we can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. She has fitted into our family perfectly and she definitely has a very proud big brother in Alex, not to mention some happy parents too.
New life was followed by new business. In March this year I took the plunge and started Phalanx Financial Services. It was a particularly stressful time going from the security of paid employment to the unknowns of being self-employed but those who know me well know that once I set my mind on something and become passionate about what I’m doing it all starts to flow from there and there is no looking back. I can honestly say I feel really proud of making the decision and I have many of you to thank for the support shown during the course of the year. So, thank you for believing in me.
The third main highlight of the year is to acknowledge the completion of my CFP studies. I sat my last exam in November, after almost a decade of study – From DFP’s to a business degree and now the CFP mark which I hope becomes more commonly held by anyone providing advice around Australia. It shows that you are serious about your profession and dedicated to improving your own knowledgebase. It won’t be the last study I do but it does give a sense of achievement knowing it’s completed.
Before I sign off I just want to take some more time to thank all of you as supporters of Phalanx Financial Services. I can assure you I don’t take my position lightly. It is a big responsibility to be a trusted confidant for your finances and your future. The faith you have placed in my services is extremely important to me and I feel a great sense of accountability to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. I am extremely excited about 2014 and have a number of new ideas to begin rolling out in the New Year.
As I said earlier, I hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe and I’ll see you in 2014.
